THE MALAYSIA-EUROPE FORUM (MEF)
• The Malaysia-Europe Forum (MEF) aims to promote Malaysia in
Europe and vice-versa through the exchange of views, furthering
of mutual interests and enhancement of links between and among
European and Malaysian business leaders, professionals, scientists,
academics and humanitarians at a non-governmental level.
• One of the main aims of this not-for-profit organisation which is
headquartered in Kuala Lumpur with branch secretariats in Brussels,
London and Berlin, is to play a non-governmental role to forge greater
understanding between Europe and Malaysia, and thereby advance
Malaysia’s global agenda.
• The MEF also aims to facilitate business and professional networking
opportunities between Malaysia and Europe as well as enhance
international confidence in Malaysia, promote greater international
understanding and clarity of Malaysia’s economic and social policies
by way of dissemination of facts, and to endeavour, wherever possible,
to support worthy causes that benefit Malaysia’s reputation abroad.
• Operational since 2009, the MEF has hosted and organized roundtables
and conferences in Kuala Lumpur, London, Brussels and Munich.
• The MEF provides platforms for frank and open dialogue, thus
creating ideas and forging greater understanding within a civil society
forum, facilitated by lively and creative people from Malaysia and
Europe, covering topics such as sustainable business, transparency,
good governance, environmental, education and cultural affairs and all
matters affecting global citizens of today. |
